ENGLISH UFF Since her appearance on the ProSieben Show Fame Maker, UFF has become a bit of a drag household name. She took viewers on a journey into the world of drag art and enchanted us with extravagant performances and self-designed outfits. We ask her about drag, testing for STI and her glittering future plans. How do you describe your drag persona? One word that I often hear about myself is “cheeky”. But my drag is always changing. When I do drag I want to continuously improve and outstage myself. I want to entertain my audience, but also impress them. I love being on stage and connecting with the audience. With my looks, I always present new sides of myself, tell stories and make references to fashion, pop culture and much more. You lived and worked in Melbourne for a long time. After returning to Berlin you noticed that the STI test behavior of queer people in the two communities is very different. Can you tell us more about it? Before I went to Australia for twoand a-half years, I lived in Berlin. Now I‘m back here and of course I want to have a routine check-up for STI. I notice that some things are different here. In Melbourne I used to go to the Melbourne Sexual Health Center. In my opinion, their services for at-risk groups are very good. You can do all STI tests anonymously and free of charge, there are also some vaccinations such as hepatitis A and B free of charge. In the event of an infection or suspicion of an infection you can get the appropriate medication on site, also free of charge. You also receive a reminder via text every three months that you should go back for testing. To leave a cell phone number can certainly be viewed critically for data protection reasons, but I’m generally missing this thinking that you have to get tested every 3 months here in Germany. It was not discussed in sex education at school and even my homosexual primary care physician in Berlin never suggested or carried out regular tests. It is only tested when necessary, i.e. when you think you have had risk contacts. There are also good poster campaigns in Melbourne that deal with STIs and at many queer parties, where cruising also takes place, people from a safer sex organization called Pronto! are often on site. They answer questions and even carry out instant HIV tests in some cases. But as far as access to PrEP is concerned, I have to say that it is better regulated in Germany. True, there are several ways to get the drug in Melbourne. However, to get it for free, one must first submit an application that is not necessarily approved. After Fame Maker what comes next for you? I‘m currently living with my family in the country. But I‘m looking for an apartment in Berlin or Cologne, where there are more opportunities to advance my drag career. I focus on producing social media content and TV appearances. That‘s why I also work hard on new designs for outfits. You can also see me in a TV-Now series soon. Otherwise I promote my current single “Trophy Wife” and am busy writing new songs.
